Here Is Our Story

Welcome to Paradise and sharing our blog as we travel the waters of Australia.

My name is John Notaras. My partner (Tania) and I purchased our Lagoon 52 flybridge (52F) in 2016 from the works in Bordeaux. She was transported to Australia and after a few months of work she was delivered in April 2017. She is our first large boat and in fact our first sailing vessel. We are not racers but rather a bit more laid back and prefer to cruise about so the 52F suits us fine.

We chose the name Paradise because whenever we are on the boat, that is what we feel, like we are in paradise. Right from the start with the boat we planned to tour up and down the Australian East coast but we have not ventured very far as time is always an issue (lack of it that is). So then we decided to plan a 12 month break from work to see how far we can take Paradise.

In 2018 we began preparing the boat for the big trip. We looked to make sure systems could cope with the requirements and backup solutions were installed where possible. We look forward to updating this web site as we travel around so our family and friends can see what we are up to.
